Originally from South Africa, I am now located in South West London after completing a Master’s Degree in psychotherapy, qualifying as a dramatherapist from the University of Roehampton.
My passion in theatre-making has led me across the theatre scene from national festivals in South Africa, to managing performers in Dubai. After completing my Honours in Theatre Studies, I became fascinated with the power of theatre to connect people no matter their, language, abilities, beliefs or circumstance. A good theatre piece connects all people on a human level.
As a humanitarian, I have worked with multiple organisations back in South Africa and here in lovely London. My activities include assisting in the development of a national programme to support an enable children and young people in rural parts of South Africa with various mental and physical disabilities. I also have experience in running workshops with young people on themes of discrimination and self-esteem, and offering vocational activities to women with severe mental health difficulties.
In my time as a creative humanitarian, I have truly come to appreciate the human spirit; our power to grow, heal, and share our lives.
Some of the organisations and work-partners I have collaborated with include:
- ArtsReach
- Uhambo Foundation
- Friends of Valkenberg
